Pokemon X and Y Phase 7 Psychic Badge Walkthrough
Pokemon X and Y Phase 7 walkthrough: Route 15, Lost Hotel, Route 16, Anistar City, sundial setup, Olympia counters, and Psychic Badge prep.
Pokemon X and Y optimal walkthrough
Laverre City → Anistar City Gym (Olympia) — autumn trails, abandoned hotels, and the sundial.
Route Map
Phase 7 is shorter than Phase 6 — two new routes, one optional sub-area (Lost Hotel), and one city. No major Team Flare arc here; that's all packed into Phase 8. Focus is on item collection (especially TM95 Snarl from Lost Hotel) and grinding levels for the upcoming Lv 44–48 gym.
Route 15 — Brun Way
An autumn-themed route, paved with fallen golden leaves that conceal hidden items and crouched trainers. The Lost Hotel sub-area branches off from the middle of this route.

![]() Sigilyph |
44 | Psychic/Flying | Wonder Skin / Magic Guard / Tinted Lens. Psybeam + Air Slash + Mirror Move + Reflect. ★ Weak to Rock, Ghost, Electric, Ice, Dark. |
![]() Slowking |
45 | Water/Psychic | Oblivious / Own Tempo / Regenerator. Psychic + Power Gem + Yawn + Calm Mind. ★ Yawn is the real threat — sleeps your sweeper after one turn. Bring Insomnia/Vital Spirit or a Lum Berry/Chesto Berry. |
![]() Meowstic |
48 | Psychic | ★ Her ace. Likely female Meowstic (offensive). Psyshock + Shadow Ball + Charge Beam + Light Screen. Female Meowstic has Competitive — gains Sp.Atk +2 when stats are lowered (Intimidate triggers it). |
Threat assessment
| Pokémon | Threat | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Sigilyph | Medium | Magic Guard (immune to indirect damage — burns/poison don't tick). Psybeam confuses. Bring Rock (Tyrantrum, Aurorus) or Electric (Mega Ampharos, Heliolisk). |
| Slowking | Medium | ★ Yawn shuts down your offensive lead. Status guard is critical. Regenerator heals on switch — so don't let it pivot. |
| Meowstic | High | ★ Ace. Fast Psyshock hits special walls through their Sp.Def. Charge Beam ramps Sp.Atk. Light Screen halves your damage. Bring Dark/Ghost STAB. |
Recommended counters (in order)
| Counter | Why | Recommended moves |
|---|---|---|
| Mega Gengar | ★ ★ ★ Ghost STAB Shadow Ball 2× on Psychic; Sludge Bomb (Poison) 2× on Sigilyph; Shadow Tag traps. Outspeeds Meowstic. | Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb |
| Greninja with Dark Pulse | ★ ★ Dark STAB 2× on all three. Protean makes Dark Pulse Dark-type with STAB. Outspeeds. | Dark Pulse, Surf, Ice Beam (TM) |
| Aegislash / Doublade | ★ ★ Dark/Ghost STAB. Shadow Sneak priority. Resists Psychic 0.5×. | Shadow Sneak, Iron Head, Sacred Sword |
| Pangoro (Pancham evolved + Dark mon in party at Lv 32) | Dark/Fighting STAB. Iron Fist + Crunch + Power-Up Punch (from Korrina's TM98). | Crunch, Power-Up Punch |
| Heracross (Y) / Pinsir (X) | Bug STAB 2× on Psychic. Heracross is the strongest — Megahorn destroys Meowstic. Watch out for Sigilyph's Flying STAB on Heracross. | Megahorn, Stone Edge |
| Mega Ampharos with Thunderbolt | Electric is super-effective on Sigilyph (Flying 2×). Mold Breaker ignores any immunity nonsense. | Thunderbolt, Power Gem |
| Skuntank / Drapion | Dark/Poison. Crunch hits Psychic; Poison Jab covers Fairy backups. | Crunch, Poison Jab |
Avoid leading with
- Mega Lucario / Lucario — Fighting STAB resisted by Psychic; Steel is neutral. Subpar.
- Pansear / Litleo / any Fire — Fire is neutral; doesn't help. Bench.
- Hawlucha / Talonflame (Flying) — Sigilyph's Air Slash hits Hawlucha super-effectively through its Fighting typing; Talonflame is fine but has no special advantage.
- Frogadier / Lapras / pure Water — Water is neutral, Slowking resists. Use Greninja with Dark Pulse instead.
- Meowstic (yours) — Psychic mirror. Slow.
Reward
- Psychic Badge — traded Pokémon up to Lv 90 obey. Final non-Champion cap.
- TM04 Calm Mind — ★ ★ Boosts Sp.Atk + Sp.Def +1. Slap on Meowstic, Reuniclus, Slowking, Sylveon, Mega Gardevoir, Mega Charizard Y, any special bulky setup mon.
- Prize money — ~5,640 P.
What’s Next — Phase 8 Setup
The Psychic Badge is the last "normal" gym before the endgame avalanche. Phase 8 is enormous:
Team Recommendations
Phase 7 is more about depth than new catches. Your team should be locking into its final 6 by now. Dark, Bug, and Ghost moves are the Olympia answers.
| Slot | Pokémon | Reasoning | Target Lv |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Your starter (with Frenzy Plant / Blast Burn / Hydro Cannon) | Greninja with Dark Pulse is the cleanest Olympia counter. Delphox with Mystical Fire is bench for the gym (Psychic-on-Psychic). | Lv 48+ |
| 2 | Mega Gengar (Gengarite from Laverre) | ★ ★ ★ Phase 7 MVP. Shadow Ball + Sludge Bomb melts Olympia. | Lv 45+ |
| 3 | Garchomp | Use Earthquake against random Dragon-type trainers (Gabite Lv 41, Sliggoo Lv 41). Bench against Sigilyph (Flying immune to Ground). | Lv 48+ |
| 4 | Doublade (Aegislash later via Dusk Stone) | ★ Shadow Sneak priority vs Meowstic. Resists Psychic. | Lv 45+ |
| 5 | Mega Ampharos | Thunderbolt + Dragon Pulse — Sigilyph counter. Cover for Phase 8's Water types. | Lv 45+ |
| 6 (flex) | Heracross (Y) / Talonflame / Pangoro / Hawlucha / Goomy (Sliggoo evo) | Flex slot. Heracross's Megahorn is amazing here. | Lv 45+ |
Dusk Stone update
Dusk Stone for Aegislash is found in Terminus Cave (Phase 8 area, post-Anistar). Until then, Doublade is your Steel/Ghost option — same typing, just slightly lower stats. Don't sweat the wait.
