Laverre City → Anistar City Gym (Olympia) — autumn trails, abandoned hotels, and the sundial.

Route Map

Phase 7 is shorter than Phase 6 — two new routes, one optional sub-area (Lost Hotel), and one city. No major Team Flare arc here; that's all packed into Phase 8. Focus is on item collection (especially TM95 Snarl from Lost Hotel) and grinding levels for the upcoming Lv 44–48 gym.

Route 15 — Brun Way

An autumn-themed route, paved with fallen golden leaves that conceal hidden items and crouched trainers. The Lost Hotel sub-area branches off from the middle of this route.

Lost Hotel

An abandoned hotel ruin north of Route 15. Optional, but strongly recommended — multiple high-value items behind Rock-Smash walls, and several Punk Rocker trainers for XP. You'll need HM06 Rock Smash taught to a party member (the move tutor in Cyllage gives it; or buy a Sturdy member to use it).

Reaper ClothVisible — held item, trade-evolves Dusclops to Dusknoir

Dusk Stone myth-bust: My Phase 6 guide mentioned Lost Hotel as a source for Dusk Stone — that's wrong. Dusk Stone is found in Terminus Cave (Phase 8 area) or available via post-Elite Four shimmer hunting. Your Doublade will have to wait for Aegislash. Lost Hotel has other useful held items (Twisted Spoon, Dread Plate, Reaper Cloth, Protector) but not Dusk Stone.

Route 16 — Mélancolie Path

A misty, drizzly route heading east. Connects Lumiose/Lost Hotel area to Anistar. Sky Battles + double battles + Fisherman pairs make it a long stretch. The trainer density here is high.

Anistar City

An astronomy-themed city built around a glowing crystal sundial in the center. Several worthwhile NPCs, plus one emotionally heavy side quest (the Old Man) that pays off only after you've reached the Hall of Fame.

Anistar stops & NPCs

Girl at city entrance: Stops you with a cutscene about a person in town who knows about legendary Pokémon. Gives you Repeat Balls (×5 or similar) — keep these for legendary captures (Articuno/Zapdos/Moltres roaming, Mewtwo, Zygarde, Xerneas/Yveltal).
Anistar Sundial (central crystal): The Sundial is the cornerstone of the city — it's actually a giant Mega Stone. Locked for now. Post-Elite Four, after you defeat the rival in Kiloude City, Professor Sycamore upgrades your Mega Ring here at the Sundial. From then on, between 20:00 and 20:59 in-game time, you can find buried Mega Stones across Kalos as shimmer-spots.
Memory Girl (outside Pokémon Center): Tells you the "memories" of a chosen Pokémon — where it was caught, its earliest encounter info. Pure flavor, no item.
★ The Old Man (house two north of boutique): A widower mourning his late wife. Asks you to lend him a Pokémon — any Pokémon at Lv 5 or under. Hand over a Lv 1–5 Pokémon (e.g., a freshly-hatched egg from the Day Care, a Magikarp). After you enter the Hall of Fame (Phase 8 ending), return — the old man will have passed away, but he left you the Pokémon back, a letter, and a Comet Shard (sells for 60,000 P or use as held item). One of the most emotionally landed side quests in any Pokémon game.
Boutique: Mid-tier clothes shop. Style-gated.
Restaurant Restaurant Le Yeah: Wait, that was Lumiose. Anistar has a Galette Stand and a small market.
★ Set up the Old Man side quest NOW. If you wait until late post-game, you may forget about it. Drop a Lv 5 or under Pokémon with him before you leave Anistar. After your Hall of Fame run, fly back to collect the Comet Shard reward.

Sigilyph
Sigilyph
44Psychic/Flying Wonder Skin / Magic Guard / Tinted Lens. Psybeam + Air Slash + Mirror Move + Reflect. ★ Weak to Rock, Ghost, Electric, Ice, Dark.
Slowking
Slowking
45Water/Psychic Oblivious / Own Tempo / Regenerator. Psychic + Power Gem + Yawn + Calm Mind. ★ Yawn is the real threat — sleeps your sweeper after one turn. Bring Insomnia/Vital Spirit or a Lum Berry/Chesto Berry.
Meowstic
Meowstic
48Psychic ★ Her ace. Likely female Meowstic (offensive). Psyshock + Shadow Ball + Charge Beam + Light Screen. Female Meowstic has Competitive — gains Sp.Atk +2 when stats are lowered (Intimidate triggers it).

Threat assessment

PokémonThreatWhy
SigilyphMediumMagic Guard (immune to indirect damage — burns/poison don't tick). Psybeam confuses. Bring Rock (Tyrantrum, Aurorus) or Electric (Mega Ampharos, Heliolisk).
SlowkingMedium★ Yawn shuts down your offensive lead. Status guard is critical. Regenerator heals on switch — so don't let it pivot.
MeowsticHigh★ Ace. Fast Psyshock hits special walls through their Sp.Def. Charge Beam ramps Sp.Atk. Light Screen halves your damage. Bring Dark/Ghost STAB.

Recommended counters (in order)

CounterWhyRecommended moves
Mega Gengar★ ★ ★ Ghost STAB Shadow Ball 2× on Psychic; Sludge Bomb (Poison) 2× on Sigilyph; Shadow Tag traps. Outspeeds Meowstic.Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb
Greninja with Dark Pulse★ ★ Dark STAB 2× on all three. Protean makes Dark Pulse Dark-type with STAB. Outspeeds.Dark Pulse, Surf, Ice Beam (TM)
Aegislash / Doublade★ ★ Dark/Ghost STAB. Shadow Sneak priority. Resists Psychic 0.5×.Shadow Sneak, Iron Head, Sacred Sword
Pangoro (Pancham evolved + Dark mon in party at Lv 32)Dark/Fighting STAB. Iron Fist + Crunch + Power-Up Punch (from Korrina's TM98).Crunch, Power-Up Punch
Heracross (Y) / Pinsir (X)Bug STAB 2× on Psychic. Heracross is the strongest — Megahorn destroys Meowstic. Watch out for Sigilyph's Flying STAB on Heracross.Megahorn, Stone Edge
Mega Ampharos with ThunderboltElectric is super-effective on Sigilyph (Flying 2×). Mold Breaker ignores any immunity nonsense.Thunderbolt, Power Gem
Skuntank / DrapionDark/Poison. Crunch hits Psychic; Poison Jab covers Fairy backups.Crunch, Poison Jab

Avoid leading with

  • Mega Lucario / Lucario — Fighting STAB resisted by Psychic; Steel is neutral. Subpar.
  • Pansear / Litleo / any Fire — Fire is neutral; doesn't help. Bench.
  • Hawlucha / Talonflame (Flying) — Sigilyph's Air Slash hits Hawlucha super-effectively through its Fighting typing; Talonflame is fine but has no special advantage.
  • Frogadier / Lapras / pure Water — Water is neutral, Slowking resists. Use Greninja with Dark Pulse instead.
  • Meowstic (yours) — Psychic mirror. Slow.

Reward

  • Psychic Badge — traded Pokémon up to Lv 90 obey. Final non-Champion cap.
  • TM04 Calm Mind — ★ ★ Boosts Sp.Atk + Sp.Def +1. Slap on Meowstic, Reuniclus, Slowking, Sylveon, Mega Gardevoir, Mega Charizard Y, any special bulky setup mon.
  • Prize money — ~5,640 P.

What’s Next — Phase 8 Setup

The Psychic Badge is the last "normal" gym before the endgame avalanche. Phase 8 is enormous:

Phase 8 preview — Iceberg Badge + Champion:
  • Lysandre Labs raid — the Lysandre Café hidden door finally opens. You face Lysandre himself for the first time, plus Xerosic, Aliana, Mable, Celosia, and Bryony in succession. Boss-floor levels in the high 40s.
  • Pokémon Village — secret area with Mewtwo (post-Elite Four) and the box legendary roar event (Xerneas on X, Yveltal on Y).
  • Frost Cavern — with Mable's Houndoom and a wild Abomasnow that drops Hail.
  • Route 17 (Mamoswine Road) — Mamoswine-only traversal through snow.
  • Dendemille Town + Snowbelle City.
  • Wulfric (Ice gym) — final gym leader. Avalugg Lv 59 ace.
  • Team Flare Geosenge HQ — final confrontation with Lysandre, the Ultimate Weapon, and the box legendary.
  • Victory Road — long dungeon, Lv 55+ wild encounters.
  • Elite Four — Malva (Fire), Siebold (Water), Wikstrom (Steel), Drasna (Dragon). Lv 63–65.
  • Diantha — Champion. Mega Gardevoir as ace.
Get your team to Lv 50+ before you leave Anistar. Many trainers will spike level fast.

Team Recommendations

Phase 7 is more about depth than new catches. Your team should be locking into its final 6 by now. Dark, Bug, and Ghost moves are the Olympia answers.

Dusk Stone update

Dusk Stone for Aegislash is found in Terminus Cave (Phase 8 area, post-Anistar). Until then, Doublade is your Steel/Ghost option — same typing, just slightly lower stats. Don't sweat the wait.
