Complete Pokemon X and Y walkthrough for Kalos: badge order, route maps, encounters, missable items, gym counters, Champion prep, and post-game.
Pokemon X and Y walkthrough
Use this hub as your Kalos route planner: jump by badge, check the recommended level band, grab missable items before moving on, and keep X/Y version differences visible without juggling ten loose files.
Quick Start
- Start with Phase 1 if you want a clean route-by-route playthrough from Vaniville Town.
- Use the target level band as a guardrail, not a hard cap, unless you are layering Nuzlocke rules on top.
- Read each phase checklist before leaving the badge city; that is where the missable gifts, route pickups, and prep items live.
- Pokemon X and Pokemon Y are covered together. Version-only encounters, Mega Stones, and legendary choices are called out inside each phase.

Best Use Cases
First-time Kalos clear
Follow phases in order and lean on the route maps, recommended counters, and checklist sections. The pages are written for a balanced optimal run: efficient, but not so optimized that it turns into a spreadsheet chore.
Nuzlocke or challenge run
Treat each phase checklist as a checkpoint. Before every gym, verify your encounter pool, healing supply, and type coverage. The wild encounter tables make it easier to decide whether an area is worth spending your first catch.
Completionist run
Use the post-game phase for Looker, Kiloude City, Mega Stone shimmer hunts, Friend Safari, Battle Maison, and Shiny Charm planning. The hub keeps the campaign and the long tail in one place.
Version Split Cheat Sheet
| Topic | Pokemon X | Pokemon Y | Why It Matters |

| Box legendary | Xerneas | Yveltal | Phase 8 changes your guaranteed legendary catch and late-game team option. |
| Early forest bugs | Caterpie line | Weedle line | Mostly collection flavor, but it is the first visible version split. |
| Coastal exclusives | Clauncher line | Skrelp line | Affects Route 8/Ambrette water coverage and later trade planning. |
| Mega Stones | Pinsirite, Charizardite X, Mewtwonite X, others | Heracronite, Charizardite Y, Mewtwonite Y, others | Important for completionist and post-game Mega Stone routing. |
